It is important to practise with last year’s question papers. Know why?

1. Increasing the chance of probability: If you have enough experience in practising with last year’s question papers, the possibility of getting repeat questions is very high. This will help you score more marks and eventually raise your overall grades. Many times, the examiners only change the tone of the question. Still, it is the same, and in a subject like Hindi, the poetry and prose section syllabus is the same as the previous year so you might expect a question with the same pattern from a particular prose or poetry.
2. Realtime exam experience: Practising with last year's question paper helps you get used to the actual feel of the exam. The question paper you are practising with has a stipulated time frame, and if you practise within that time frame, you develop a habit of sitting in one place and writing answers in a specific time frame. The entire process gets you used to the real exam feel, and when you actually sit for your final board exam of class 10, it seems very easy.
3. Revising syllabus: Solving last year’s questions brings to your notice many areas that you would have missed or left completely otherwise. After solving the question paper, you will understand which area to give more importance to and where the examiners are setting questions from, and thus studying those areas becomes more important. This practice is a great revision tool; thus, you cover your entire syllabus.
