The Eligibility Requirements for JEE Advanced 2024 

Appearing in one of the most competitive exams in India, you will need to know the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria in detail. 

Nationality: All Indian nationals including OCI and PIO are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced examination. 

Age: The maximum age limit for General and OBC category candidates is 25 years. Five years of age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates. 

Academic Qualification: The candidate needs to pass their 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects. 

Number of Attempts: An individual is permitted to take only two attempts in two consecutive years. 

Percentage in 10+2: Candidates willing to take the JEE Advanced must have secured 75% in their 12th or equivalent examination. 

Clearing JEE Main: Candidates must clear JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced. 

JEE Advanced 2024 Enrollment 

The JEE Advanced registration last date is from April 21, 2024, till April 30, 2024. You can fill out the application form on the official JEE Advanced website jeeadv.ac.in. You must read the instructions carefully before starting the registration process.

Exam Pattern for JEE Advanced 2024

The NTA has released the JEE Advanced 2024 exam date i.e., May 26, 2024.

As usual, the JEE Advanced 2024 Examination will consist of 2 papers. Here, the candidate will need to attempt both papers compulsorily. Each paper will consist of 54 questions, divided into three subjects.

The JEE Advanced 2024 Exam will be an online computer-based test conducted as a Multiple-Choice Questionnaire. Moreover, there will also be questions where the candidate will have to input a numerical value as an answer to a problem. 

The exam will be conducted at an NTA-approved test centre. There will be a total of 54 questions in the examination. Each correct answer will fetch the student four marks, making the maximum mark 360. An incorrect answer will result in the loss of 1 mark for the student. 

Notably, the number of questions for the examination changes yearly, and the total marks will vary accordingly.

JEE Advanced 2024 Planning and Preparation

The candidates must register for the examination and pay the JEE Advanced registration fee before the JEE Advance form last date, failing which, they will not be allowed inside the examination centre.

The application form for JEE Advanced 2024 Exam will be released by April 2024. Notably, JEE Advanced examination is conducted annually, and a particular IIT is assigned to handle the process. The Zonal Coordinating IITs will hold the JEE Advanced 2024 Examination under the supervision of the Joint Admission Board of India (JAB).

• JEE Advanced cut-off increased in 2023 and was lower in 2022.
