The Eligibility Requirements for JEE Advanced 2024 

Appearing in one of the most competitive exams in India, you will need to know the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria in detail. 

Nationality: All Indian nationals including OCI and PIO are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced examination. 

Age: The maximum age limit for General and OBC category candidates is 25 years. Five years of age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates. 

Academic Qualification: The candidate needs to pass their 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects. 

Number of Attempts: An individual is permitted to take only two attempts in two consecutive years. 

Percentage in 10+2: Candidates willing to take the JEE Advanced must have secured 75% in their 12th or equivalent examination.

Exam Pattern for JEE Advanced 2024

The NTA has released the JEE Advanced 2024 exam date i.e., May 26, 2024.

As usual, the JEE Advanced 2024 Examination will consist of 2 papers. Here, the candidate will need to attempt both papers compulsorily. Each paper will consist of 54 questions, divided into three subjects.

The JEE Advanced 2024 Exam will be an online computer-based test conducted as a Multiple-Choice Questionnaire. Moreover, there will also be questions where the candidate will have to input a numerical value as an answer to a problem. 

The exam will be conducted at an NTA-approved test centre. There will be a total of 54 questions in the examination. Each correct answer will fetch the student four marks, making the maximum mark 360. An incorrect answer will result in the loss of 1 mark for the student. 

Notably, the number of questions for the examination changes yearly, and the total marks will vary accordingly.

Candidates who qualified for JEE Advanced 2024 Examination will be required to register for the JoSAA Counselling process to secure admission into their desired IITs.
