NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Not only Indian citizens but also candidates from outside the country must pass this medical entrance exam to be admitted to undergraduate programmes at a medical university there.

In 2016, the Supreme Court ruled that only this exam will be able to fill all of the open seats under the Quota system across the nation. It also applies to applicants who choose to attend private universities in our nation. Candidates who fall under the general category must receive at least 50% of the possible points. For SC, ST, and OBC applicants, this requirement is a minimum score of 40%.

The age eligibility for NEET is a maximum limit of 25 years and a minimum limit of 17 years. For those who fall under the SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and PwBD categories, this limit is relaxed by five years.

NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs are given a 15% reservation on All India Quota Seats. Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, however, do not fit into this category.

A student may apply for NEET if they are taking or have already taken their 12th-grade board exam. Additionally, they must pass the board test or any other exam that is equal in order to guarantee their entrance to the appropriate universities. These candidates must have successfully completed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Now the question is- is NCERT enough for NEET? You should not overburden yourself with tonnes of pointless stuff. Here are some strategies that will help you sail through.

Do Not Skimp On The Syllabus

You need to know the NEET UG 2024 syllabus like the back of your hand because it is so extensive. Students frequently pay more attention to the more important details while omitting the less important ones. Notably, the test necessitates complete familiarity with every nuance in each of the three subjects.

Proper Reading Material

You can prepare adequately for your NEET test with a number of NCERT books that are accessible. You must be careful to pick only the top NEET exam books that will enable you to ace the test with ease. In addition to the appropriate texts, make sure you review prior exam papers for clarity.

Make A Proper Schedule

A good timetable is essential for effective time management. In your regular activities, you can have additional items to take care of. Separating your time will therefore enable you to give your studies your full focus.

Attend Practice Exams

Attending mock exams frequently can help you identify your areas of weakness. These tests will also give you more confidence for the approaching test. Today, a number of internet resources provide a variety of practice exams to aid students in understanding and analysing their weak points.

Adopt A Strategy For Answering The Paper

Accuracy, time management, and the choice of appropriate questions are essential factors. You should move forward in the order you intend. The sole option is to highlight and emphasise all of the correct answers, including qualifiers. When faced with a trick question, use the option elimination strategy to narrow your options down to two. To prevent making dumb mistakes, you should then comprehend and select the appropriate alternative.

As you may already be aware, the success of your entire exam preparation ultimately depends on how well the OMR is filled out. The OMR sheet is quite important, thus you should fill it with utmost attention and care.
