    Ans. Primary activities include agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, mining, quarrying and poultry farming etc.

    Q. Differentiate between disguised unemployment and seasonal unemployment.

    Ans. Difference between disguised unemployment and seasonal unemployment are as follows:

    Disguised unemployment Seasonal unemployment
    (i) This is a situation when a person looks like employed in an economic activity but actually his contribution is zero. This is a situation when a person is engaged in a seasonal economic activity and remains unemployed during the off season.
    (ii) It is mostly found in rural sector mainly agriculture. It is found in agro based industry.
    (iii) Job security. No job security.
    E.g. 8 persons are cultivating on same farmland for production but the requirement is of only 5 persons. So in this situation, remaining 3 persons are regarded as disguisedly unemployed. E.g. A farmer is engaged in a seasonal activity. He is employed for around half of the year and remains unemployed for the rest half of the year. This is due to the nature of seasonal farming activity.
